As of 2018 there were 2.5 million immigrant students in the United States. In Texas specifically, we have over 317,000 students.
The growing needs of these global students are requiring schools to pivot to provide specialized services.
English Learners (ELs) have historically performed significantly lower than their native English speaker peers. Current graduation trends demonstrate that ELs have a national graduation rate of 67% versus their native speaking peers who have a graduation rate of 85%.
